Harley Davidson Sportster - The Dirtbat Project DPC

The purpose of this project was to design a beastie "post-apocalyptic" machine that would put DP Customs and Harley Davidson in the map of the dirt/flat track racers. Unfortunately the competition set a guideline saying that the bike must be a hardtail. And so it was done, hardtail with a heavy duty suspension system for the biker's seat.

The progress of the work is shown below:
Original Sportster 2003 model used as a base in Photoshop
Project started off by first designing the tank. An original Sportster tank, sanded down and with custom made DP logo with the bat wings "Dirtbat Project".
Used DP Custom's frame and rear wheel, front fork lent from a triumph flat track racer, changed the engine once to make things more visible and controllable.
Tested a new engine from source images that fitted better than all the older ones. Rear wheel set fully made. Attempt to create a custom rear fender design. DP custom ventilator for intake. Reedited leather seat from a Ducati Monster.
A different version i experimented on the colors. Couldnt really quit the bare metal style.
Final Versions
Offroad version. Reshaped seat, added r-light, stainless steel GP style exhaust, finally simplified metal rear fender. Blackened engine, Added custom made engine fender with the DP logo cut on it.
Put Street tires on it.
Complete street version without the engine fender nor the offroad tires
The Dirtbat project was made for races like this one. Wish you enjoyed
